Desperate to start your induction year but can't find a job? Can you complete your NQT induction year through a supply teaching agency?
As a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) you can complete your induction year through a supply teaching agency.
The same rules apply, the induction year can be split in to 3 terms at 3 different schools or you can complete it in one year at the same school.
The advantage of doing it through a supply teaching agency is that you get the support and training from the school and from your recruitment consultant also.
You must make sure that you find a recruitment agency that is going to support you through this process and offer you training. When applying for roles the recruitment agency can set up trial days for you so that you can try the school before you commit to anything.
They will also be able to give you advice on your interview techniques and your CV.
When applying for a role through an agency don't forget that you will be up against many other applicants. Its best not to lay demands on the school about doing your induction year with them then and there. Its better to get the job, get settled in, proove yourself and then after a month or so approach them about starting it after half term.
